YOUR REGIONAL REPRESENTATIVES

YOUR REGIONAL REPRESENTATIVES

You can connect with the YMJA through our Regional Representative program.

The YMJA has volunteer representatives for each region of the country. Reps act as liaisons for their regions and participate in a year-long leadership development program. In addition, each rep serves at his or her regional youth-only retreat.

Alexa

Southeast Region

Hey everyone! My name is Alexa but my family and friends call me Lexi for short. I’ll be 16 in December. I'm very blessed to be a part of a big family including my 4 sisters and my 2 nephews, who I love so much. I attend Shoresh David in Tampa, Florida, where I learned to play guitar. I also play ukulele and I’m in the process of learning drums and bass. I really enjoy music from the 60's - 80's, I find it more unique and intriguing than music today. =P I also have a big passion for animals. I own 2 dogs, a hamster, a rabbit and a kitten. Even though I love animals very much, I love the YMJA more! I feel very blessed to start this journey, serving as a regional representative for the YMJA. I'm very excited to see you all at the southeast retreat, and to see what God has in store for this year! If you need any prayer or just want to chat, I’m here for you. =) I can be e-mailed at: alexa@ymja.org

Alyssia

Southeast Region

Hey everybody! My name is Alyssia. I was born and raised in Florida and I attend Congregation Shoresh David Tampa. Living in Florida my whole life means I have been blessed to have total access to the beach. I spend almost all of my free time at the beach down by the water; it’s like my second home! The beach is where I picked up the love for surfing and swimming. Recently in the past 3 years I have also found my love for playing the guitar. I just graduated from high school so now I am a college freshman and started my schooling at St. Petersburg College, studying to become an Elementary school teacher. I am the oldest of my 3 siblings and having them in my life has helped me see my loves for working with younger children. I'm so excited and grateful that I got this opportunity to serve in the YMJA as a Regional Rep! I can’t wait to see how God will work in my life and the rest of the YMJA!! If you ever need any encouragement, prayer or anything I am here for you guys! You can reach me atalyssia@ymja.org

Alexia

Southwest Region

Hey YMJA!! My name is Alexia Formby, and I am a seventeen year old freshman in college! I was born in Georgia, now I live in Colorado, and yet I’m the regional rep for the Southwest.. Maybe I’m just the YMJA’s nomad? When I’m not busy with school or work, I love to write music!! One of my favorite things is singing and worshipping with fellow believers. :) I cannot wait to get to know all of you, and I’m SO incredibly blessed to be this year’s regional rep for the SW!! I’m praying for each of you.. I can’t wait to see what God does this year! You can reach me at alexia@ymja.org.

Joseph

Midwest Region

My name is Joseph Hackett and I am 14 years old. I live in Kokomo and worship at Sha’arey Yeshua in Indianapolis, Indiana.  I like to camp, hike, fish, and play video games.  I have gone to Sha’arey Yeshua my whole life.  I accepted Yeshua into my life at the age of four or so.  I had a Mikvah at 12 years old and it was a big step in my spiritual journey, publically accepting Yeshua as the Messiah and saying that I put my faith in Him.  I still don't know what God has in store for my life, and that is sometimes scary. I have made lasting friendships with other teens in the YMJA and that with the teachings has helped me to continue to grow in God.  Most days I'm busy doing Boy Scouts, Lego Robotics, and just seeing friends. I come from a family of six and I’m the oldest of 3 siblings. I help out around the house inside and out and it's a little crazy having so many people in one house but it's worth it. My dad is the youth leader and assistant to Rabbi Jeff Adler at Congregation Sha’arey Yeshua. I’m excited for this year as a Regional Rep! You can reach me at joseph@ymja.org.

Sarah

Northeast Region

Hello! My name is Sarah and I go to Beit Simcha in Allentown, Pa. I’m the oldest of one other sibling, Ashley. I have a cute bunny named Penguin (after the Batman character) and she is just a year old. My senior year of high school just started, and I go to a full time co-op technical school for culinary. I enjoy cooking and being spontaneous in creating foods, which also reflects my personality. I love being around kids, and my ultimate goal is to be a youth director. I also love to sing and play my ukulele. It’s a pretty calming instrument, and I get that passion for music from my amazing mom. I’m a very social person and I love talking to people more than I should. I’m really excited to be a regional rep for this upcoming year! I’m excited to see everyone at the youth retreat and if any of you need anything please feel free to contact me at sarahv@ymja.org

Tronia

South Central Region

What’s up guys?! My name is Tronia. (: Hard to say? Well let me help you out, it’s, Trah- Nee- Uh. Easy right? I also sometimes go by Tron or Nia. I am from Fort Worth, and I attend Bat Zion in Duncanville, Texas. I’m currently a freshman in college majoring in biology at the University of Texas at Arlington. I love a wide variety of music and dance, especially if it involves either a hip hop choreography or a cultural African vibe. I have a great sense of humor and I’m very easy to talk to. I’m amazed at the opportunity of being a regional rep this year and excited to be a part of the YMJA! All of this mind blowing but I know G-d has something wonderful in store, and I can’t wait to see y’all at the South Central retreat! I can be emailed at tronia@ymja.org
